Lac Camachigama holds a long tradition of hosting hunting and fishing enthusiasts from around the world.
In the 1950’s, then Quebec Premier Maurice Duplessis, built the first log fishing camps which remain on Grosse Ile “Big Island” to this day. During the following decades, a main lodge was constructed as were additional cabins to host the many clients who initially had to fly to this remote location. With the expansion of logging roads in the region, you can now drive to our main landing where our barge will bring you and your gear to the island camps without the weight and weather limitations often associated with air travel. Modernized camps, new boats and motors, electricity, hot and cold running water and even wifi in the main lodge offer all of todays conveniences but as soon as you get out on the lake or in the expansive wilderness…. It looks and sounds as it did for the past hundreds of years.
Offering the perfect mix of tradition and exceptional hunting and fishing in a true wilderness setting, ECO Camachigama invites everyone to come enjoy what this jewel of the Abitibi-Temiscamingue region has to offer.
